1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT AND FOR WHAT PURPOSE?
We collect a variety of personal information about our users so that we can provide Our Platform. We do our best to be as transparent as possible about our data practices and provide you choices about how your data is used when possible. The categories of information we collect can include:
Registration and profile information when you join Our Platform. We may collect personal information such as email address, username, password, phone number, and address when you register for an AfterSchool account or if you correspond with us. We also collect billing information if you make a payment to a service provider.
Data collected through the use of Our Platform. We collect additional personal information when a person is registered for a Program through Our Platform. Though the information may vary based on the needs of the Activity Provider offering the Program, such information may include the person’s name, birth date, grade, known allergies, school, information about the parents and siblings, emergency contact information and other information. This information may be provided to our Service by an adult family member or by an Activity Provider. We also collect information about how you use the Service and the data you input. Many Service Providers will customize their websites or their use of our Service to permit additional types of data collection and content that is uploaded or input into the Service. Any data that you submit or make available to others on the Service is User Content.
We use this information to operate, maintain, and provide the features of the Service. We may use this information to communicate with you, such as to send you email messages, push notifications and permit other users of the Service to contact you. You can control your receipt of email and other messaging by visiting the “Profile” page on our website. We may also send you Service-related emails or messages (e.g., account verification, payment confirmations, changes or updates to features of the Service, technical and security notices). You may not opt-out of Service-related emails. For more information about your communication preferences, see “Your Choices Regarding Your Information” below.
The AfterSchool HQ website may use “cookies” to help you personalize your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.
One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. The purpose of a cookie is to tell the Web server that you have returned to a specific page. For example, if you personalize AfterSchool HQ pages or register with AfterSchool HQ site or services, a cookie helps AfterSchool HQ to recall your specific information on subsequent visits. This simplifies the process of recording your personal information, such as billing addresses, shipping addresses, and so on. When you return to the same AfterSchool HQ website, the information you previously provided can be retrieved, so you can easily use the AfterSchool HQ features that you customized.
You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to fully experience the interactive features of the AfterSchool HQ services or websites you visit.
3. LEGAL BASIS FOR COLLECTING YOUR INFORMATION
Whenever we collect personal information from you, we may do so on the following legal bases:
Your consent to such collection and use;
Out of necessity for the performance of an agreement between us and you, such as your agreement to use Our Platform;
Our legitimate business interest, including but not limited to, the following circumstances where collecting your personal information is necessary for:
Intra-organization transfers for client data for administrative purposes;
Product development and enhancement, where the processing enables us to enhance, modify, personalize, or otherwise improve our services and communications for the benefit of our users, and to better understand how people interact with our Website;
Communications and marketing, including processing data for direct marketing purposes, are subject to your opt-in for these purposes and are used to determine the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns and advertising;
Fraud detection and prevention;
Enhancement of our cybersecurity, including improving the security of our network and information systems; and
General business operations and diligence
In each circumstance, however, we will weigh the necessity of our processing for the purpose against your privacy and confidentiality interests, including taking into account your reasonable expectations, the impact of processing, and any safeguards which are or could be put in place. In all circumstances, we will limit such processing for our legitimate business interest to what is necessary for its purposes.
4. OUR RETENTION OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We may retain your personal information for a period of time consistent with the original purpose for collection. For example, we keep your personal information for no longer than reasonably necessary for your use of our services and for a reasonable period of time afterward. We also may retain your personal information during the period of time needed for us to pursue our legitimate business interests, conduct audits, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

You should understand that information you provide through the registration process or post to the public areas of our website, or through the use of our Platform (including your name, if provided, and location information) may be accessible by and made public through syndication programs and by search engines, metasearch tools, crawlers, metacrawlers or other similar programs.
Though we make every effort to preserve member privacy, we may need to disclose your Personally Identifiable Information when required by law or if we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to:

You have the right to data portability for the information you provide to AfterSchool HQ.
