About Maggie Benson
Maggie Benson is the President of Sure Check Background Screening, where she and her team help youth programs, volunteers, and nonprofits keep kids safe by making background checks fast, affordable, and easy. Their same-day reports allow organizations to onboard staff, coaches, mentors, and volunteers quickly while building trust within their communities.
Before founding Sure Check, Maggie worked as a primary teacher, where she saw firsthand how much a child’s sense of safety depends on the adults around them. That experience inspired her passion for helping youth-serving organizations simplify screening without compromising safety.
At Sure Check, Maggie’s mission is simple: to make background checks easy so program leaders can focus on what truly matters: serving kids.
Outside of work, Maggie is also a children’s author and yoga teacher. She loves visiting schools to read her books and connect with students. Her two published works, Wally Saves the Ice and The ABC’s of Climate Solutions, reflect her commitment to education and environmental awareness. She is currently working on her first graphic novel.
